Malaysia prints a great deal more than anyone can see. Zines run to fifty copies, sell out at one fair in Kampung Attap, and then exist nowhere — not in a shop, not in a library, not on a page you could send to a friend.
kedaikarya is an attempt at the missing page. Three things, really: a place to find what is being made, somewhere to read about it, and a shelf where a copy of it is actually kept.
We take no cut
There is no basket and no checkout. Every work links straight to wherever its maker sells it — their own shop, their Instagram, Ko-fi, a fair they will be at next month.
That is on purpose. A marketplace takes a cut, and a cut has to be earned with traffic nobody has in the first year. A directory can be useful from the first day it has ten good things on it.
Whether that changes is a question for next year, and it will be asked out loud rather than quietly switched on.
Everything is chosen by a person
Every maker here was read by someone before they appeared. There is no automatic approval, no paid placement, and no way to buy a spot on the homepage at any price.
