Add your book
If you make zines or photobooks in Malaysia, they probably belong here. Tell us about them.
- It’s free. And it’ll stay free for at least the first year.
- Your own page. Show up to 20 books, and choose the background, colour, layout and order.
- The one link for your bio. Add your shop, Instagram and anything else, like a link-in-bio page. The difference: people also see your books, read about them and can reserve a copy without leaving. No fees, no paid upgrades.
- You keep every ringgit. When a reader reserves a copy, we send you their name and email, and you arrange payment with them the way you usually do. No money goes through Satu Copy, so we take no cut.
- A real person reads every application, usually within a day. If it’s not a fit, we’ll tell you why.
You’ll be one of our first makers. Creating an account takes a minute.
How it works
Six steps and about 20 minutes of your time. We usually reply within a day.
Create an account
It takes a minute. Your account becomes your page, so use the name you want readers to see. The Start an application button brings you here first.
Fill in the application
About 10 minutes: your name, where you’re based, a link to your work, and a few sentences about what you make. We read that last part most closely.
We read it
Usually within a day. We get an email the moment you apply, so it won’t sit in a queue. You’ll hear back by email either way, with a reason. Until then, your account page shows it’s with us.
Add your first book
Once you’re approved, start with the details: title, format and year. Photos come on the next screen. Nothing goes public until you publish, so take your time.
Upload the pages
This is the step people most often get wrong. Photograph one page at a time, not the book lying open, and we’ll pair them into spreads. Upload them in reading order, cover first. See an example you can flip through.
Publish and add a link
Publishing puts the book on your page and in Books. Add at least one link to where you sell it, so people can buy it. When someone reserves a copy, we email you their name and email address, and you sort out payment between you.
What we’ll ask later
Each time you publish a book, we’ll ask for one copy for the archive, and whether it can go in a printed record of the archive one day. Where we can, we’ll collect it in person and ask you about the book. Those chats become interviews in Stories, and they’re our favourite part.
You can say no to either, and nothing changes if you do. We ask about the printed record years early on purpose. The details are in the terms.
